Greece’s Ministry of Citizen Protection aims to implement a new security and mediation plan for the Roma settlements of Athens, including round-the-clock police patrols and the planned hiring of 50 Roma police officers. The move comes amid prejudice against the Roma people, who are often seen as criminals. The Roma in Greece are protesting the measures, arguing that they erode trust.
