A dramatic theft has shaken France: a unique 2,500-year-old gold necklace was stolen from a museum in Chatillon-sur-Seine. The 24-carat gold artifact, known as a torque, came from the burial site of the Celtic noblewoman known as the Lady of Vix and was considered one of a kind. After two failed attempts in recent years, the thieves entered the museum during the day and smashed the display case. Following the robbery, authorities announced additional security measures for particularly sensitive exhibits.
