Stocks rose Wednesday, supported by a decline in bond yields after the Treasury said it will raise the level of long-term government debt buybacks. Strength in healthcare lifted the market, helped by big gains in Moderna and Merck on news that their experimental personalized cancer vaccine showed upbeat results . Club stock Eli Lilly soared to all-time highs, and we booked a five-fold profit . The trim does not change our positive long-term outlook on the GLP-1 giant. 2. TJX shares fell more than 2% despite the off-price retailer reporting quarterly earnings and revenue beats. Investors didn’t like the softness seen in the unit that houses the T.J. Maxx and Marshalls chains. The rest of the business was solid. We’re not concerned about Wednesday’s pullback. “I do think this could be a setup for an opportunity here,” Club portfolio director Jeff Marks said during the Morning Meeting. Check your inboxes and texts shortly for our full analysis on TJX earnings. 3. RBC Capital started coverage of Cardinal Health with a buy-equivalent rating and price target of $276, implying a 17% upside from Tuesday’s prior close. Analysts were bullish on their core pharma distribution business and radiopharmaceutical network. We really liked Cardinal’s recent quarter and its robust full-year outlook. On Tuesday, Jeff mentioned Cardinal as a potential buying opportunity. Instead, we added to our GE Vernova and Boeing positions. We’re currently a hold on Cardinal, with a $265 price target.
