As Ebola continues to spread in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, survivors are playing a key role in fighting the outbreak.
In Beni, former patients such as Gisele Mukotso and Ose Kavunga visit communities, orphanages and local radio stations to promote prevention measures, including handwashing and avoiding physical contact.
Drawing on their own experiences with the disease, they work to counter rumors and build trust where official messages often face skepticism.
Despite limited resources, these volunteers remain determined to raise awareness and help save lives.
