MongoDB – Shares of the database service provider tanked about 18% following news that CEO CJ Desai is joining Meta as its chief enterprise platform officer, reporting to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. MongoDB’s board named Dev Ittycheria as interim president and CEO. Sweetgreen – The salad chain jumped more than 2% after Wells Fargo upgraded shares to overweight from equal weight and lifted its price target to $11 from $6. Sweetgreen wasn’t linked to cyclospora, but Wells Fargo sees headwinds tied to the outbreak subsiding and “transformation initiatives beginning to materialize.” Boeing – The aerospace giant tumbled 5%. Over the weekend, Boeing said that it flagged a software glitch last month on some of its 737 Max aircraft that could affect certain landing procedures. U.S. airlines told CNBC they don’t have Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft with the updated software tied to this glitch in their fleets. Roblox – Shares of the gaming platform provider tumbled 6% after Jefferies downgraded shares from hold, noting that it sees “pressures ahead.” “The 30% run in the stock post Q2 results reflects an overly optimistic view of the 12mo Bookings trajectory,” analyst James Heaney wrote. The firm anticipates the improvement in U.S. and Canada user and bookings growth will take longer and be more costly than the market expects. Kodiak Sciences – Shares rocketed about 170% after the biotech company announced that its experimental eye treatments Zenkuda and KSI-501 met primary endpoints in a Phase 3 study in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration. Cybersecurity stocks – Cybersecurity plays jumped Monday. Late last week, The New York Times reported that OpenAI’s artificial intelligence accessed publicly available data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Census Bureau. The Global X Cybersecurity ETF (BUG) gained more than 1%. Palo Alto Networks advanced 4% and CrowdStrike jumped 3%. AI buildout stocks – Shares of companies tied to the AI buildout effort tumbled after news of OpenAI’s latest agent escape and the company’s move to pause its training of the its newest models. Photonics companies Lumentum and Coherent dropped more than 5%. Specialty glass and fiber company Corning slid 3%, and Micron Technology lost 2%. Meta Platforms — The hyperscaler slipped almost 4% following an almost 13% gain last week amid a series of announcements related to its personal AI agent Muse. Meta’s fall on Monday came as stocks related to the AI trade broadly sold off. Newmont — The gold miner fell more than 4% as the precious metal declined 3%. Higher global bond yields, including the 10-year U.S. Treasury note yield crossing 5.2%, are weakening demand for non-interest-bearing assets. Energy stocks — U.S. oil prices were off their session highs but remained elevated at about $93 per barrel. Exxon Mobil and Chevron both were higher by 1%. Airlines — Higher oil prices sent major airliners lower as investors digested the implications for jet fuel costs. United Airlines and American Airlines slipped more than 2% each, while Delta Air Lines was off by nearly 2%. Nvidia — While chipmakers broadly declined as tech stocks were lower to start the week, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) off 2%, Nvidia outperformed and was up 2%. On Monday, the company announced new AI safety software and a $150 billion increase to its stock buyback program.
