We’re exiting our remaining stake in an industrial stock spin-off gone wrong

We’re selling the rest of this tiny position to replenish cash following a series of purchases over the past few days.

Following Wednesday’s trade, Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust will no longer own a position in HON. We’re selling the rest of our tiny Honeywell position to replenish cash following a series of purchases over the past few days. We previously cut this position in half last month and downgraded our sell-into-strength 3 rating . Shares were up about 1% on Wednesday, bucking a broader market decline, after the industrial automation company announced a new AI platform developed with technology from Club name Nvidia and server maker Dell . The platform, dubbed Forge Cognition, uses artificial intelligence agents and real-time digital twins to help operators improve asset reliability, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort across existing systems and facilities. We’re using this slight rebound to realize a small loss of about 3% and move on from a very disappointing position that has not yet realized the benefits of becoming a standalone company after it separated from Honeywell Aerospace , which has also struggled. (We exited Honeywell Aerospace back in August.) We also want to point out that 2027 earnings per share estimates for Honeywell Technologies may still be too high based on previous management commentary. We called this out when we sold shares last month . The company has previously stated it expects 15% EPS growth in 2027. If we assume the company earns $8.35 per share in 2026 — the high end of its current guidance range — and EPS grows 15% in 2027, that puts 2027 earnings at around $9.60 per share. That’s below the current consensus EPS estimate of $9.81, according to LSEG. If rising interest rates slow the economy down, beat-and-raise quarters may become less likely. What this suggests is that forward estimates need to come down, and stocks tend to struggle as EPS estimates move lower. This mismatch is also playing into our decision to exit this position.
