Last week’s AI trade losers are bouncing Monday, with the Nasdaq up 1% and the S & P 500 up just shy of 1%. Chip stocks are especially strong after Anthropic dropped its IPO filing before the open. Lower oil and bond yields are putting the wind at the back of the tech sector, which benefits from steady interest rates. The Federal Reserve is expected to leave rates alone on Wednesday afternoon after its two-day October meeting. However, another rate hike is expected in December after September’s first increase in borrowing costs in three years. 2. Speaking of Anthropic’s upcoming initial public offering, Jim Cramer said he was encouraged to see that no one customer exceeds 10% of revenue for the nine months ended Sept. 30. The frontier AI lab will trade under the ticker symbol ANT. Goldman Sachs has been chosen as a lead underwriter, along with Morgan Stanley — same team as SpaceX’s offering. Underwriting Anthropic means huge fees for Goldman. Jim said he would buy Goldman stock right here. 3. Meta Platforms’ plan to sell $95 billion of stock to further fund its AI ambitions is raising the question about whether two other big tech stocks in the portfolio will need to follow suit. Jim brought up Amazon and Microsoft , both of which report earnings this week. “We need to see who is going to raise money,” he said, pointing out that these two are the most likely candidates. Probably not Alphabet , he said, because the Google parent sold $85 billion of stock over the summer. Alphabet reports earnings this week. 4. Stocks covered in Monday’s rapid-fire at the end of the video were Boeing , which is one of 11 Club earnings this week; also covered: Verizon , EQT and Range Resources, as well as Lockheed Martin . (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust is long META, AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, BA. See here for a full list of the stocks.) As a subscriber to the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer, you will receive a trade alert before Jim makes a trade. Jim waits 45 minutes after sending a trade alert before buying or selling a stock in his charitable trust’s portfolio. If Jim has talked about a stock on CNBC TV, he waits 72 hours after issuing the trade alert before executing the trade.
