As China advances its Belt and Road Initiative and major powers like Russia and the United States increasingly compete through spheres of influence, Moriyasu argued that foreign policy must reflect geopolitical realities rather than outdated assumptions.
Moriyasu outlined his proposal for three new strategic “bureaus” — Mackinder, Mahan and Spykman.
