The United States has declared its interim ceasefire with Iran over and launched strikes on more than 80 targets, including sites near the port city of Bandar Abbas, according to US Central Command. Washington says the operation was in retaliation for Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, including a damaged Qatari LNG tanker. Iran says it responded by targeting US bases in the Gulf.
President Donald Trump warned of further military action, while the UN urged safe evacuation for thousands of stranded seafarers.
