Scientists are the first to capture video footage of Quest, Ernest Shackleton’s final ship.

The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, in partnership with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, undertook an expedition in Labrador Sea off the coast of Newfoundland to survey the shipwreck where Ernest Shackleton ultimately died on in 1922.

Quest was the last ship built by Shackleton, a leading figure of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration in the early 1900s, before the introduction of modern mechanical transportation.
