Families of Pakistani police officers killed in a series of militant attacks are staging a sit-in protest in Balochistan, accusing authorities of failing to properly equip security forces.

Pakistan’s military says 42 police and army personnel have been killed in three attacks since July 6, while 54 militants died in counter-operations.

The violence underscores worsening security concerns in Balochistan, where separatist insurgents and Islamist militants have carried out deadly attacks for years.
