NEVERS, July 15 : Norway’s Soren Waerenskjold claimed his first victory of the season and handed Uno-X Mobility a Tour de France stage win on Wednesday, prevailing in a mass sprint at the end of the 161.3-km Stage 11 from Vichy to Nevers.
Waerenskjold finished ahead of Dutch rider Olav Kooij, with Belgium’s Jasper Philipsen taking third after a nervy run-in in which the peloton fanned out across the narrow roads and teams battled for position before the Norwegian launched the decisive sprint.
