Wildfires are continuing to burn across parts of France and Spain, leaving behind scorched forests, damaged homes and devastated communities.
In southwestern France, more than 2,200 firefighters, supported by the army, aircraft and European crews, are working to contain a major blaze that has been stabilised but is not yet under control.
In Spain, some evacuation orders have been lifted, allowing residents to return, though many have lost everything. Authorities warn that an approaching heatwave and strong winds could fuel new flare-ups.
