German authorities may get a second chance to prosecute Volodymyr Zhuravlyov, a trained diver accused of involvement in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage.

Croatian police detained Zhuravlyov on a European arrest warrant issued by Germany, which alleges he helped attach explosives to the gas pipelines. Germany previously sought his extradition from Poland, but the request was rejected. Croatia’s courts will now decide whether he can be extradited to Germany, while Zhuravlyov’s lawyer maintains that his client is innocent.
