Flash floods triggered by collapsing mountain glaciers have killed at least 359 people in remote parts of Nepal, with more than 1,000 others still missing, including hundreds of international visitors.
Towns such as Devighat were buried under mud and debris as floodwaters surged through river valleys. Rescue operations continue in difficult conditions, with Nepal’s army supported by international teams. Satellite images show glacier collapse near the Nepal-China border. Officials warn that river blockages upstream could cause further flooding.
