SEOUL, Sept 15 : The Bank of Korea’s decision to carry out back-to-back interest rate hikes in August was a more contentious affair than the headline vote suggested, meeting minutes released on Tuesday showed, signaling divisions that could slow the future tightening pace.
The BOK on August 27 raised its benchmark interest rate by a quarter percentage point to 3.00 per cent, delivering a second straight increase as inflation stays above target and financial stability risks persist.
