DW and its partners have uncovered how Russian-linked operatives allegedly recruited Latin Americans online to carry out sabotage missions across Europe.
The investigation traces a series of arson plots and reconnaissance operations in Poland, Czechia, Romania and Lithuania, often targeting sites linked to Ukraine.
Court documents and interviews reveal how vulnerable recruits were lured with promises of money and directed by handlers through social media and Telegram.
At the center of the network is a Cuba-born man living in Russia, who is accused of coordinating multiple operations and remains wanted by authorities.
