The investment firm initiated coverage of the security tech stock with a buy rating. It also put a $60 price target on shares, implying 31% upside from Monday’s close. “Crane NXT combines a 150-yr legacy currency banknote printing franchise with proprietary authentication tech, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and growing exposure to higher-growth industrial & security markets, creating a path to durable [mid-single-digit] organic growth,” analyst Stephen Volkmann said Tuesday in a note to clients. “CXT benefits from high barriers to entry that we think are underappreciated by investors.” He noted that Crane NXT has transformed itself into more than just a banknote security provider over the past three years, expanding its total addressable market to roughly $13 billion from about $7 billion through a series of acquisitions. That should make its stock more appealing to investors, he added. “The portfolio boosts exposure to faster-growing end-markets, including food & beverage and pharma, while benefiting from secular trends, [including] supply chain digitization and emerging market growth,” Volkmann wrote. Of the seven analysts covering Crane NXT, six have a buy or strong buy rating on the stock, while one has a hold on it, LSEG data shows.
