Three years after the October 7 Hamas-led attack, survivors Amit Siman Tov and Mor Tsafarti return to Kibbutz Nir Oz, one of the hardest-hit communities near Gaza.

Amit lost her mother, brother, sister-in-law and three young nieces and nephews in the assault.

As rebuilding continues, survivors are divided over how to preserve the evidence and memory of what happened while creating a future for the community.

Many are still seeking accountability after an Israeli military investigation found failures in protecting Nir Oz.
