This year, Heidi Klum, 53, dressed up as her own left hand, including her rings — except it had been chopped off. The New York Times reported it took her around six hours to get into costume for the 25th Halloween party she has thrown. The German supermodel could spit fake blood to make it look like the hand was still bleeding. Her children, who accompanied her (pictured), didn’t seem to mind.

Last year at Halloween, Klum dressed as mythological figure, Medusa, with animatronic snakes in her hair. Like this year’s costume and others, it is often difficult for her to party in such outfits and she will change later. Klum’s Halloween fiesta, which was held at a restaurant inside the Moxy Hotel in Manhattan, New York, had about 450 guests attending.

Klum says she fell in love with costumes when she was a child in Cologne, dressing up at Germany’s annual Karneval. In 2024, Klum came to her party as ET, the alien from Steven Spielberg’s famous film — but she was the version of the character in the movie where the children try to disguise the extraterrestrial and keep him hidden. Meanwhile Kaulitz came as the more traditional ET.

In 2023, Klum’s costume required some serious teamwork. Klum herself was in a blue peacock suit while Cirque du Soleil dancers played her feathers. That year, Kaulitz was dressed as a peacock’s egg. This year Kaulitz was unable to attend as his band is on tour. Klum said that if he had been there he could possibly have come as her other hand.

In 2022, Klum dressed as a worm while Kaulitz was the fisherman who has her on a hook. Klum has said she has had to wear an adult diaper under some of her more elaborate, full-body Halloween costumes. That included this worm look.

Klum did not hold her traditional Halloween party in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Back in 2019, she dressed up as a sexy cyborg, a mix of human and machine, while Kaulitz was the astronaut who apparently crash landed on her planet. The couple got married the same year.

In 2018, the pair went as Fiona and Shrek from the animated movie, “Shrek.” This was the year that the couple announced they were having a relationship.

In 2013, the German supermodel came as a much older version of herself. Klum spent hours in make up with two famous artists to get this look.

In 2011, Klum and her partner at the time, the musician Seal, dressed up as loving primates. Other looks the dedicated fan of Halloween has tried on include Cleopatra, a Transformer, Jessica Rabbit, the snake from the garden of Eden, a cat, a crow and a butterfly.
