The vote was seen as a test of Armenia‘s geopolitical direction, with Pashinyan’s pro-EU stance resonating despite reported pressure from Russia during the campaign.

Russia’s government has questioned the vote’s integrity, but Armenian officials and international observers say the process was largely clean. Pashinyan now faces the challenge of pursuing peace in the region while balancing ties with Russia.
