Off the coast of Loughshinny, Ireland, artist Maria McSweeney uses underwater artworks to reveal hidden seagrass and raise awareness for marine conservation. Her work was made possible by a government basic income for artists, providing €325 per week for three years. Studies show increased productivity and wellbeing. Despite rising living costs, the scheme is seen as an economic and cultural success and is now being made permanent.
