A “super El Nino” may be forming. Potentially the strongest in 140 years, it is raising global alarm. Drought in Honduras is already worsening, leaving residents without water and authorities warn conditions will deteriorate.
Past El Nino events have triggered floods, crop failures and food crises worldwide. The UN says this El Nino could intensify climate impacts, bringing extreme heat, drought and flooding but early preparation could reduce damage.
