Florida’s Gulf Coast is seeing a noticeable decline in international visitors—impacting hotels, vacation rentals and leisure businesses. Travelers from Canada and Europe in particular are staying away, even though they typically stay longer and spend significantly more than domestic tourists.
Industry insiders point to political tensions in the United States, as well as hurricanes and rising costs. Even major attractions like Disney are reporting fewer international guests. While some operators are responding with discounts, others remain optimistic. For many in the tourism sector, one question is key: will international visitors return in greater numbers?
