Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 20 people in southern Lebanon, hours after a ceasefire with Hezbollah was supposed to be in effect, according to the Lebanese Civil Defense. Attacks hit Nabatieh, nearby villages and the Beqaa Valley, including a residential building in Barish. Israel said the strikes were in response to overnight Hezbollah rocket fire. Residents on both sides of the border voiced doubts about the truce, as mediators warn that the situation could escalate.
