15-year-old Omar is among the thousands of migrants who recently crossed from Morocco into the Spanish exclave of Ceuta in search of a better future.
Traveling alone, he says he has spent nights on the streets and struggled to find shelter or support despite expectations that Spain would assist unaccompanied minors.
As he searches for a route to mainland Spain, Omar describes the risks faced by young migrants, including possible returns to Morocco and costly offers from smugglers.
His story highlights the uncertainty confronting many migrants at Europe’s borders.
