The investment bank upgraded the Budweiser parent to buy from hold, noting that the company derives 64% percent of its sales from emerging markets In addition, 61% of its earnings before interest and taxes comes from developing areas. “ABI is one of the most [emerging markets]-focused companies in European Staples,” analyst Mitch Collett said Wednesday in a note to clients. “This exposure provides meaningful protection from the structural challenges in [developed markets], while the company’s dominant market shares across key markets support resilient growth and profitability.” BUD YTD mountain BUD year to date That could protect the beer company from structural challenges such as a recent decline in alcohol intake in the U.S. and other countries, per Collett. In a 2025 poll conducted by Gallup, 54% of U.S. respondents reported consuming alcohol, marking the lowest rate of reported alcohol consumption in 90 years. However, Anheuser-Busch Inbev’s strengthening foothold in non-beer beverage categories could drive shares higher, according to Deutsche Bank. “In the US, strong Beyond Beer performance provides an additional growth avenue and helps mitigate weakness in core beer,” Collett wrote. Deutsche Bank’s call falls in line with consensus on Wall Street.
