NASA‘s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is a next‑generation observatory designed to dramatically expand our understanding of the universe.
With a wide‑field infrared camera and a powerful coronagraph, Roman will survey the sky far faster than previous space telescopes, studying billions of galaxies while seriously lengthening our list of known exoplanets. Named after the “mother of Hubble,” the telescope builds on her vision of space‑based astronomy.
DW talked with members of the team that built the telescope to find out more about how its unique ability to map large cosmic structures will help answer fundamental questions about planetary systems, dark matter, dark energy and the forces shaping the universe’s evolution.
