A further five people are injured, the mayor says. The Boeing plane caught fire after leaving the runway at almost 130mph.

An aerial image of Miami International Airport is marked to show where a plane initially landed, and where it came to a halt.

The Boeing 767-300 cargo plane was landing in Miami after departing from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Sunday when it overran the runway.

The aircraft struck vehicles on a road immediately behind the runway. FlightRadar24 reports the plane has come to rest near a parking lot that services an Amazon warehouse and other businesses.
