Mass protests have swept across France, bringing together students, trade unions, and Yellow Vest activists over concerns ranging from rising living costs to conditions in schoolsand public services. Demonstrations turned violent in several cities, with clashes between protesters and police, attacks on public buildings, and reports of looting and arson.

Protesters say years of frustration over teacher shortages, deteriorating school conditions, and government inaction have fueled the unrest. With elections approaching, the growing anger is also intensifying political polarization between France’s left and right.
