An artificial intelligence infrastructure firm in India is reportedly seeking to raise debt to fund the purchase of Nvidia’s Rubin graphics processing units.

AM Intelligence, a Hyderabad-based company, is planning to raise up to $3 billion through bond issues and bank loans to purchase Nvidia Corp’s next-generation chips, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

The split between bonds and loans is yet to be finalized, but the firm expects to get $300 million in advance payment from potential offtakers, the report said.

AM Intelligence, which claims to be among the “largest committed buyers” of Rubin GPUs outside of North America, did not respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

The company, which is owned by the founders of leading Indian renewable energy firm Greenko, plans to invest $6 billion to set up computing power of 100 MW that will be split across centers in Malaysia and India, AM Intelligence said in a release on Oct. 5.

It will buy a total of 29,000 Nvidia’s Rubin chips for the 100MW capacity, the company said, adding that it plans to add 300 MW of capacity to market in the next 15 months with an investment of more than $20 billion.

AM Intelligence is part of a growing number of AI infrastructure companies in India that are offering computing-as-a-service. Earlier this year, Mumbai-based Yotta Data Services said it plans to invest $2 billion to set up an artificial intelligence hub using Nvidia’s Blackwell Ultra GPUs.

Many energy companies in India are becoming neocloud companies by setting up data centers with computing power that can be leased to hyperscalers, said Neil Shah, vice president at market intelligence firm Counterpoint Research, pointing to Adani Group, Reliance and Tata Power as some of the key examples.

Nvidia’s Rubin GPUs are tailored for agentic AI and will give AM Intelligence a first-mover advantage in India, Shah said.

By next year, enterprises will be focusing on “running low-latency production agents” and not just on the raw foundational model training, which is supported by Blackwell Ultra GPUs.

AM Intelligence is developing 5 GW of AI data centers and 1 GW of compute-as-a-service across India, the U.S. and Europe, a spokesperson for the company said in a note. Within two years, the company plans to set up 400 MW of compute capacity.
