LivestreamMenuMorgan Stanley just refreshed its Vintage Values list of top stocks to hold for 12 months, adding tech giant Alphabet and consumer staples giant Coca-Cola , along with others, to the roster. The firm’s Vintage Values 2026 portfolio outperformed the S & P 500 by 1,316 basis points from Sept. 9, 2025 to Sept. 11, 2026, posting a return of 32.12% compared to the broad index’s return of nearly 19%. To compile its 2027 list, the firm’s strategists asked Morgan Stanley’s North America analysts for their top recommendation for a one-year buy-and-hold investment horizon, turning up more than 50 names. This list was whittled down to 15 stocks. The bank’s equity strategist, Michelle Weaver, says the selection process incorporates company fundamentals and quantitative analyses, macro exposure, industry positioning, valuation and risk-reward. On the 2027 list, 12 of the 15 names are new. Only Amazon , McKesson and Visa appear on both lists of Vintage Values 2026 and 2027. Other names that made the grade in 2027 include Alphabet, Apple , Coca-Cola, Dynatrace , Eli Lilly , Equinix and Williams Companies . The 2027 list is skewed toward quality, large caps and growth stocks, with 60% of the Vintage Values 2027 stocks in the top two quality tiers compared to 56% for the S & P 500 index. The firm also noted that the 2027 roster is more expensive than the broad market on most measures. “Vintage Values 2027 has an ‘anti-momentum’ tilt – the stocks on the list are not simply stocks that have worked recently but rather ones our analysts have identified for their strong bottom-up drivers,” said Weaver in a note.Read More
