CEO Joseph Hayek said the company is seeing opportunities across its business, “including rapidly growing demand for our engineered [American Society of Mechanical Engineers] tanks used in liquid cooling systems for data centers.” First-quarter adjusted earnings and revenue surpassed the Street’s estimates, per LSEG. KB Home – The homebuilder fell more than 1% after projections for fourth-quarter deliveries came in below expectations. Housing gross margins for the current quarter are expected to range between 16% and 16.6%, while analysts polled by LSEG sought 17.2%. IonQ – The quantum computing stock jumped 12% after IonQ said it tested the industry’s first real-time quantum error decoder. The new capability allows for quantum error correction across operations without slowing down execution time, the company said in an announcement. Quantum stocks – IonQ’s breakthrough helped lead the entire quantum sector higher in premarket trading Wednesday. Rigetti Computing and D-Wave Quantum both were higher by more than 5.5%, while Infleqtion rose a similar amount. Six Flags Entertainment — The theme park operator was higher by 1% after a Wall Street Journal report that activist hedge fund Jana Partners was encouraging the company to explore a sale. Citing people familiar with the matter, the Journal said the request followed the activist fund’s disappointment with Six Flags’ second-quarter earnings report. Maplebear — The Instacart owner was higher by more than 3% after the company announced that it will allow customers on its grocery platform to use Meta’s personal AI agent Muse. It’s the latest AI platform to have a partnership with Instacart, joining OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini.
