The Bryson fire, west of Los Angeles, has triggered evacuation orders and warnings across a large area of the Santa Monica Mountains.
The fire has burned 147 acres and is 17% contained as of Friday morning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Officials said the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said on X that her team is closely monitoring the situation, adding “while the fire is burning outside of the City of Los Angeles, the LAFD is prepared to respond to any fire threat that could emerge and has predeployed resources across the San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica Mountains, Hollywood Hills, and West LA”.
