Opener Phoebe Litchfield is expected to miss Australia’s next three matches in the Women’s T20 World Cup after sustaining a quad injury while batting against South Africa.

All-rounder Ashleigh Gardner also missed Wednesday’s match against Bangladesh at Headingley with an ankle sprain.

The six-time winners, who beat South Africa by 65 runs in their opening game, face the Netherlands on Saturday and Pakistan on Tuesday.

Australia are hopeful Litchfield will be fit for their final group game against India on 28 June.

Grace Harris replaced Litchfield against Bangladesh, with seamer Megan Schutt in for Gardner.
