A landmark agreement has opened the border between Spain and Gibraltar, ending decades of strict controls and lengthy queues at the crossing. Around 15,000 commuters travel into the British Overseas Territory each day, while businesses hope easier access will boost trade and investment. The deal also brings changes, including higher taxes on some goods. Supporters on both sides see new economic opportunities, but rising housing costs and growing demand for property are already creating fresh challenges in the region.
