Thick smoke rose over St. Petersburg after a long-range Ukrainian drone strike hit an oil terminal and other infrastructure, injuring several people and causing widespread damage, officials said. Ukrainian footage also showed drones targeting a naval base.

Kyiv called the oil facility key to Russia’s war effort. The attack comes after deadly Russian strikes and near a major economic forum in the home city of Russian President Vladimir Putin, underscoring rising tensions.
