Mozambique is repatriating hundreds of citizens from South Africa after violent attacks against foreign workers.

Protests in Mossel Bay turned deadly, with migrants reporting mobs targeting non-South Africans, burning homes and forcing people to flee.

Several countries, including Malawi and Nigeria, plan similar evacuations. Pretoria rejects claims of xenophobia, pointing instead to economic pressures driving tensions.
