Russia has stepped up its attacks on Ukraine, launching a massive overnight strike on Kyiv and the surrounding region that caused widespread damage. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said civilian warehouses, logistics hubs and other non-military sites were targeted. Survivors described fleeing powerful explosions as trucks and belongings were destroyed. Ukraine says Russia is increasingly using ballistic missiles, exploiting a shortage of US-made Patriot air defense interceptors. Kyiv has repeatedly called for more Patriot missiles, warning that delays increase civilian casualties.
