The BBC’s Helena Humphrey took a test drive ahead of the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, where IndyCar race cars will push speeds of 180-185mph in Washington DC.
The Freedom 250 Grand Prix is part of a belated celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, and the event is expected to attract about 140,000 people on each day of the weekend. The event is the first major auto race in the capital in more than 24 years.
