After twin earthquakes hit Venezuela on Wednesday, rescuers in La Guaira have been searching for survivors using basic tools. Residents are pleading for urgent aid, lamenting a lack of machinery and support.

Looting has added to the chaos, as anger grows over the slow government response. International rescue teams are arriving, but hospitals are overwhelmed. Tens of thousands remain missing.
