‘It looks black’ – Americans react to Reflecting Pool’s completed paint job
After weeks of renovation, water has begun flowing back into the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
President Donald Trump launched the project in early April, which included resurfacing the pool, addressing leaks and painting it “American flag blue”. Trump initially said that the project would cost $2m (£1.5m), but it is now expected to cost $13.1m, federal records show.
BBC spoke with tourists to get their reactions to the newly completed pool and its new colour.
