Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will attend the State of the European Union address in Strasbourg on September 16 and deliver a speech to EU lawmakers the following day. Though EU membership is not on the agenda, Canada is seeking a closer relationship with the bloc — including discussions about the possibility of associate status. Alongside trade, critical minerals and AI cooperation, upcoming talks are also expected to focus on joint high-tech and security-infrastructure projects.
