Extreme heat is sweeping across Europe, breaking temperature records and disrupting daily life. In France, tens of thousands of homes lost power as roads melted under intense heat.

The UK recorded its hottest June day, forcing more than 1,000 schools to close or shorten classes. Health experts have warned of serious risks and urged people to adapt their behavior.

Temperatures are expected to climb further in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium in the coming days.
