One security expert says the recent vehicle attack in Berlin fits a broader pattern of car-ramming attacks across Germany and Europe in recent years.

Rafael Bossong of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) explains that such attacks are difficult to prevent because they rely on everyday vehicles and often involve suspects with few links to organized extremist groups.

Despite increased security measures and a strong police presence at public events, authorities face ongoing challenges in identifying and stopping potential attackers before they strike.
