FIFA is facing criticism after overturning the automatic suspension of USstriker Folarin Balogun, who was sent off in a match against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The decision, reportedly made after discussions involving FIFA boss Gianni Infantino and US President Donald Trump, allows Balogun to play in the next game against Belgium.

Coaches, referees, fans and UEFA have condemned the move as unprecedented, raising concerns about consistency, fairness and the integrity of football’s disciplinary rules.
