NATO leaders and defense companies have announced billions of dollars in new military investments at the NATO Defense Industry Forum.

In an interview with DW, Admiral Pierre Vandier, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, said the alliance is adapting to lessons from the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East by combining traditional weapons such as tanks, ships and fighter jets with drones, artificial intelligence and space-based technologies.

He stressed that NATO’s future strength will depend on how quickly it integrates new capabilities, improves battlefield awareness and stays ahead of evolving threats from Russia and other adversaries.
