Thousands of students and young activists returned to the streets of New Delhi for a second day of protests, demanding the resignation of India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and major examination reforms. Demonstrators said police used tear gas and batons during earlier clashes, leaving hundreds injured, but vowed to continue. The youth-led “Cockroach” movement, which has also organized hunger strikes, pledged further action as opposition politicians, including Rahul Gandhi, backed the protesters and criticized the government’s response.
