The Munich Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival. Every year, in just over two weeks, some 6.5 million people flock to the Wiesn, as the event is popularly known. People drink, eat, dance, and celebrate. Statistics show that around 20 percent of all Oktoberfest visitors come from abroad, with most of them from the U.S., the U.K. and Italy. On some days, such as “Italian Weekend,” the proportion of international guests can rise to around 30 percent. In total, there are 35 beer tents that can accommodate 120,000 people. Euromaxx reporter Lukas Stege was out and about at the Wiesn and met people from 13 different countries.
