Pilot caught with 70,000 ecstasy pills at Indonesian airport

A Malaysian pilot was arrested at Jakarta airport after being found with around four stone (26kg) of drugs hidden in his luggage.

CCTV footage released on Monday showed the moment a pilot was caught at Jakarta airport trying to smuggle 70,000 ecstasy pills in his suitcase.

A group of officers at the airport can be seen removing several bags full of drugs – which amounted to around four stone (26kg) – from a silver suitcase.

The man told authorities that he was paid the equivalent of £9,000 to smuggle the drugs.

According to authorities, the Malaysian pilot was under the influence when he was arrested.
